DESIGN CHALLENGE Reposition a bland conference hotel as an exciting venue for Syracuse University Community events. Following its purchase by Syracuse University, our challenge was to create a showcase property in Central New York. It had to offer a memorable and flawless experience for visiting alumni, parents and faculty as well as upscale travelers who visit Syracuse for its social and cultural fabric and tony shopping and restaurant district. THE SOLUTION To visually communicate the new brand identity, J/Brice selected a lush palette and spectrum of natural materials for the public space and newly redecorated guestrooms. An even higher level of finish was chosen for the Junior or Full Suites and exclusive Club Level accommodations. In an area where bistros and four star restaurants compete vigorously for the tourist trade, Rachel's, the new hotel restaurant, was recast as a white tablecloth destination. Cherry wood tones and warm, timeless colors reminiscent of a Tuscan landscape completed the picture. Guests who take advantage of the Club Level accommodations are greeted with a décor that is in concert with amenities such as turn down service, terry robes and triple sheeted beds. J/Brice also managed the design of over 9,000 square feet of meeting space, comprising 10 meeting rooms. Highlighting The Grand Ballroom are exceptional custom Alabaster chandeliers. Syracuse University's investment in the J/Brice team has paid off in rave reviews by guests and meeting planners. Here are just few of their comments. "I could not recommend a better setting or staff anywhere." "I would provide my highest recommendation for the Sheraton. Thank you very much for helping us please our customers." "This was the nicest hotel in America that I have every stayed in. I was given a room on the Club Floor and it truly was sumptuous. |
